Description:

You will be a well versed Shipping and Logistics professional with:

• Significant professional experience in the container, general cargo and bulk shipping industry in a management capacity.
• Experience in all aspects of port development.
• Considerable experience of working in a multi cultural and international environment.
• A flexible, constructive and innovative approach to Port Operations.
• Excellent presentational and inter personal skills.
• Ability to negotiate and incentivize business development.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Ability to work as a key member of a small but elite operations team.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Liaison with shipping line customers, present and future, to monitor existing and prospective volumes, locally and internationally.
• The preparation and presentation of reports and business plans and analyses of existing and potential operations.
• To ensure that the reputation of the Company for achieving standards of excellence in productivity and performance at our terminals is maintained and further improved.
• Periods of travel to all areas in which the Company operates or may operate in the future.
• Seek out and assessment of future business opportunities with the ability to produce detailed analysis of potential targets and their infrastructure, civil, equipment and manning requirements.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership and motivation in managing existing and future staff groups.
• Representing the company, locally and internationally with visitors, other businesses and governments.
• Liaison with other group companies as required to ensure clarity of direction and to seek greater efficiencies.

Criteria:
Preferred:

• Experience of living overseas (personal knowledge of the Middle East environment and port and logistics business would be beneficial but not essential).

Person Specification:

• Degree level qualification or similar sea-going qualification or extensive practical experience with industry related qualifications.
• At least 10 years at a senior level port managerial role.
• Staff management experience.
• Good leadership and communication skills to establish effective working relationships.
• Computer literacy
